Whooper on small pond at Carter Moor, the bird has been around for about a week. (I am informed a second bird was present earlier in the week - but only one present for the last 2 days).

Out of interest, how do you access/ where is this pond?

Carter Moor is to the North-East of Elementis Ecology Site Urlay Nook/Eaglescliffe. Access is from Durham lane, Eaglescliffe, adjacent to the football field. The public access track is at the top of the track along side the football field, at the green gates turn right over the stile and follow the track (100 yds) until you reach a small bridge over a stream go over this and the 2 ponds are visible from here.
