In case you missed it in the " Northern Echo ", Trevor Stephenson of the Heritage Coast Project, received a personal and outstanding environmental award not just for his success in wardening the tern colony, but also for his promotion of the birds through the media and community groups. Also cited, were Derek Brown and Bill Sutherland along with various groups like INCA who sponsored the task. After the near complete predation of chicks in the 2010 season, this year saw the raising of 147 young birds.
Well done chaps and that goes for the terns too!
