I was parked at the top car park at 2.00pm today when this bird flew past from north to south before dropping into scrub on east side. It hadn't reappeared by 2.30pm. A first for me  :)

Just to echo Keith's comments, and I am sure everyone agrees, what a bird! Many thanks Ian for finding this mega bird. Once again all of the moaning about missing out on this years influx has paid off!
Thank you!!

Certainly giving much better views today and occasionally coming close to the birders. Very active on and off as it hunted over the reed beds but often mobbed by Crows with 7 having a go at one point. A couple of times it flew west over the railway line and towards the A178 veering north to circle Saltholme east pond to Sabic and then back to Dormans Pool. Once it flew north east as if heading over to the Long Drag but found it's way back a while later.
