Spotted seaton common with 12 or so others.

RN GW was ringed as an adult on 29th August 2000 at Seal Sands.

It returns here most winters. I first saw it was back on 1st October this year making it one of the earliest to return.

We did have a round a dozen colour ringed birds back there but most seem to have moved on again, for the moment at least.

Colour ringed Herring Gull Yellow 7A1B on the beach at Saltburn yesterday had been ringed on the 01/05/15 near York and this is the first sighting since.

I just received a reply about a colour ringed Black-tailed Godwit I saw from the Phil Stead Hide at RSPB Saltholme on 23/08/2015. It was ringed as a juvenile in the Montrose Basin, NE Scotland on 08/11/2014.

Details of two colour ringed curlew I've observed around the Tees Estuary over the last couple of months.

Black/Orange Black/Orange: Spotted at South Gare on 16.11.2015 was ringed at Seal Sands as an adult on 18.04.2015.

Red/White Black/White: Spotted at RSPB Saltholme on 08.12.2015 is one of three curlew ringed with this combination. The bird was ringed in either July 1991, February 1992 or August 1994.

Colour ringed Shag blue FXJ at Skinningrove on the 2nd of January 2016 had been ringed as a chick on the Isle of May on the 18th June 2015.
This is the first sighting of it since it fledged.

Unfortunately this bird was then found dead at Scarborough, North Yorkshire on the 7th January 2016

Herring Gull colour ringed 7H3B seen at Hartlepool Marina on 22/11/2015 was rung at Harewood Whin Waste Disposal site, York on 01/05/2015.

Colour ringed Shag - green NWT, found at South Gare on 9th Jan was ringed on Brownsman, Farne Islands on 22nd July 2015 as a nestling and it's the first sighting since.

Colour ringed Shag - blue HPN, found dead at South Gare on 9th Jan was ringed on Isle of May, Fife on 26th June 2016 as a nestling.

Herring Gull Yellow 5P7B at Saltburn this morning. Ringed at York on the 20/03/15 and seen subsequently at Skinningrove 05/05/15 (Don Page) and at Saltburn 29/08/15

Both birds reappeared on 31/01/2016 and still present on 02/02/2016.

There have been no further sightings since previously seen at Seaton Snook.

Colour ringed Twite at Seaton Snook yesterday. Found by Chris Brown on 24/11/2015.

Ringed 22/10/2014 in Rishworth, South Yorkshire

It was ringed 22/10/2014 in Rishworth, South Yorkshire and over wintered that year in the Pennines. Interestingly 3 of the birds that it over wintered with arrived back at the same site this year having not been seen all summer.
Last winter the feeding station was covered with deep snow for a few days at this time all of our over wintering Twite disappeared. This bird however was quickly reported by patch watchers at Orgreave, Sheffield (just below the snow line!). When the snow melted a few days later it arrived back at the feeding site and remained in the area until around April. It is unclear where it spent the rest of its summer.

A second ringed bird was present but only with a metal ring which couldn't be read.

I sent off the report at the time but have heard nothing back.

Colour ringed Avocet on Tidal Pool this afternoon. One of seven present though previous days I've seen 10 on Greenabella.

Looks on the photo to be RB OO (not recorded) though it maybe RB RR which would be a returning bird which was ringed as a pullus here on 31/05/2010.
