Dear sir,

On Monday 30.01.02 I was flying a falcon in Billingham which unfortunately decided to go awol. It was heading in the direction of Seal sands which of course is only a stones throw from Seaton Carew and Hartlepool. I was wondering if members of your organisation would keep a look out for this bird. The Falcon is a Hybrid of a Peregrine Falcon and a Saker Falcon and its appearance is very much of a Peregrine. It would be distinguishable as it is wearing leather jesses and has a transmitter attached to its leg.

Any help you could give would be very much appreciated.

Certainly a falcon around 1.30pm flew onto the chimney on the north side of Tioxide perched about half way up on east side. Similar area to that reported by Steve Jones yesterday.

QuoteI think I may have seen the missing falcon reported in the earlier post from Ian Forrest.  I have an office at Tioxide Greatham Works on Tees Road near Graythorp.  From my office window this morning on three occasions I saw a large falcon -which I presumed a Peregrine flying between the big oil storage tanks across the road from my office. The reason I think it may be the lost Falcon is that it seemed to be dragging something and I thought it had a kill but then wondered why it had it each time I saw it. However, I have to caution that I did not get Binos on it so it is always possible it was a just Peregrine with a kill.

Mr. McCreesh informed.
