This raptor was circling high above my house at marton last sunday.
appears dark brown with a cream head.it circled and attempted a short hover before descending into a long stoop northwards.
I thought marsh harrier or montague.tail seems a solid brown colour.

This bird is a Sparrowhawk
1.Broad blunt wing tips
2.Short wings
3.long tail with slim base and sharp corners

The flight of a sparrowhawk is quite destinctive with quick wing beats and short glide.
