Just in case members felt missed out, we thought we would tell you too about this event. I am sure that any club member who is interested already knows the where and the when of this bird, but as it is so special and even to those with little interests in birds amongst the general public, we felt in Conservation Committee last week that Jo Public should be given a chance to enjoy the bird too.
So in conjunction with RSPB and Stockton Borough, a Nightingale appreciation event will take place on Thursday evening at 7.30pm starting from the car park at the country park. I appreciate it is short notice, but the bird may fall silent or even move on, so speedy actions had to be arranged. General publicity  is to happen in the press, radio and twitter to ensure the layperson is informed.

Many thanks to the 8 persons who showed up . The bird was a reluctant singer until 8.45 pm when it gave it all its got until we had to leave the site at 9.00 lest we became locked in. Singing from 5 m in a dense hawthorne bush it was hardly disturbed by our presence.
