Two juveniles in view from the hide this morning.

Too distant and light too poor for anything but record shots.

IanF

Both birds still present today.

IanF

They were showing a good deal closer to the hide this morning.

IanF

Still present today. One came reasonably close to the hide again. At times it was feeding alongside a Little Grebe.

IanF

Present this afternoon.

IanF

A couple more photos from this afternoon.

Got to hold my hands up folks. Got this one wrong. Ian's photo's are pretty conclusive. Sorry. :-[

IanF

Not an issue Dave. It's one of those where you have to get a really good look at them to be certain. I was pretty sure it was a BN Grebe when I saw it from the black face/cheeks and domed/peaked crown but had to make sure in the book when I got back to the car in case I'd missed something. I fell lucky with it coming quite close to the edge of the pond just as the light improved.

Dave Taylor

Thanks for your kind words Ian. I'll not fall on my sword just yet, though I may put a brown paper bag on my head when I'm birding Teessmouth. I took one look at your photo and booked myself in at the Eye Infirmary. ;)

IanF

By the sounds of things it's the same bird that has been on Back Saltholme the last week.

It was close to Saltholme Hide this morning but viewing wasn't that great as it was pretty foggy.

IanF

Giving occasional close views again this morning.
