Until recently I've never had a problem in accessing TBC Website via Apple iPad, I simply click on the thumbnail icon & it loads Homepage instantly with Tweets on the right. However, for the last fortnight a problem has arisen. The Homepage starts to load but then freezes, just displaying the TBC Heading & a blank white screen. Two fellow Saltholme Hide Guides with Apple iPads are also experiencing exactly the same thing. From the blank screen if we then click on Sightings we get full access to the whole Site. In addition, some of our posts on Recent Sightings appear as normal, but a few hours later certain words/sentences change from black font to red, then later return to black. Last night I couldn't get any access at all to the Site via iPad. Curiously, access via Laptop is normal. No idea why; can anyone help? Thanks from Dan McKie.

Have you upgraded to ios7? Did the issue start at this time?

Dan McKie

No, I haven't upgraded to ios7. Don't know if my two colleagues have but will ask them in due course. Problem still occurring this morning. Will keep you posted.

Have same issue running latest software.

Jamie

I think there is some issue with ios7 and Safari but some have said it is fine if you use chrome. There has been no changes to the website for over 2 months

Access via iPhone and Macbook seem perfectly ok so can't think why an iPad should be having problems?

Dan McKie

No idea Stew, it's still u/s today. As reported yesterday we can only access the site by clicking either Recent Sightings or Forum, but Homepage & Tweets are always missing. Perfect via Laptop. Maurice & others have identical iPads - & identical system fault. Hope someone out there can help soon.

Jamie

Have any of you tried installing and using the Chrome browser on your iPad to access the website? If so what happens?

Currently I suspect that the problem is some update that Apple has carried out to the browser on the iPads that is now causing an issue with the ASP.NET technologies the website uses.

Dan McKie

Sorry Jamie, installed Chrome but same problem. Will send you e'mail with further details.

Only having problems on IPAD started using Dolphin browser with no problems.

Jamie

I have now added the Twitter feed under 'Sightings' on the menu. Can the ipadders see this?

Also nice to know that it seems that the Dolphin Browser on the iPads does not have this issue - thanks

I am still having problems reading the home page. I can see the tweets/ twitter info via the new page, but the main page still has the tweets on and I can't read it for more than a second. I am using safari on my ipad and haven't upgraded to 7 yet.
