Egg identification Please!

I have found two eggs roughly 40mm by 35mm size light brown colouration throughout and it has dark brown spots covering all the area. I must clearly state that no bird what so ever was disturbed, it was found by a small pond, my suspicions suggest it could be a moorhen! I will try and get a pic on later.


Have just done a little research and certaily looks like moor hens eggs, just to add both eggs had previously been smashed prior to me looking at them.
