Managed to snatch these two shots just before it scarpered, hence the poor quality. A lump smaller than Turnstone (which were close by) and slightly smaller than Dunlin (Which were also close by). Prob just a small Dunlin but what the hell, maybe not. Any ideas please.

Hi Fred,
It's a Curlew Sandpiper.

Cheers

Thanks Damian. I shudda got it but the pics are "poor" and I only saw it for seconds and it seemed a bit small. It was in the south bay yesterday when we were going for the Grey Phal. Bit late innit? FRED

Good find! Still present today on the shoreline - nice views of the white rump in flight.

Ta Gary. I was taking a pic of Turnstones and caught it in the corner of the screen. Didn't get much of it and had to "snatch" the smudgy photo's before it went. (Bright, harsh sunlight). Never even saw it go so didn't see any white rump otherwise might have clicked it. Sx 50 has its limitations n snapshots seem to be one of them. Nevermind, it's a good bird to add to Mondays outstanding days list tho. Trouble was I was the only one of the group to "clock" it. :P FRED
