Scarecrow at Charlton's Pond

Hello I have read the comments about the scarecrow and I am struggling to understand why people think the way they do. Some of the comments appear to be from a point of view where only theirs is right  and not prepared to listen to anyone else!
I can see that people might be upset by a scarecrow but at the end of the day it could be a lot worse and the birds could be getting shot. The scarecrow is obviously not working as there are cormorants on the pond. Cormorants are quite a wily bird and are not going to be fooled by a scarecrow for long. As for shooting them have you watched someone trying to get close enough to shoot them? Not a chance.
I think people should be more upset about the fact that it looks a mess and out of place there.
I can see both sides of this but as nobody has even bothered to talk to the angling club about it and instead gone behind their backs and contacted the council instead I can see the angling club being unhappy about the way things have been done.
As one member commented about the club getting kids to take up fishing and doing something other than drugs and playing video games, he is spot on.
I would like to point out that I do not fish but I have been birdwatching all my life and I can see why quite a lot of people who work in the countryside hate birdwatchers and walkers with a passion when I read some comments.

WoW !!! I have sat back and read through these comments since they started this is getting ridicules and well out of hand, arnt you's guys who write post on here and are seen by many to be the holy grail of this site your the guys with most if not all the answer been just a little childish !!! Kids will be kids and birds will be birds you can't change everything ... where's it going to stop ?? Birds eat fish !!! Fact of life fish breed, again fact !!! Life goes on even with a badly dressed scare crow .. at least he's working !!! Now there's a first for Billingham lol .. jokin ...
