Has anyone on these forums ever been asked to show there RSPB or Teesmouth Bird Club membership card to a security person at Dormans Pool. I'm just curious as members of both organisations are always asked to carry there membership card to that reserve as visiting that reserve is only available for members of those two organisations. Although I've visited Saltholme as an RSPB member a number of times, I've never visited Dormans Pool myself.

The agreement with the club and Impetus, from whom RSPB later leased the site, was that club members could have access and be obliged to demonstrate membership if asked.
This agreement rolled on to include RSPB members when the lease was agreed. So unless you are a member of either of these organisations, you have no entitlement to be there. By whom and how such an arrangement would be enforced is another issue, but it does mean that low life can be ejected by Impetus security if they are alerted. However I doubt if they are aware of the agreement in the first place.

I've been asked exactly once, in about 6 years of occasional visits to Dormans.
