A few weeks ago I had a reply from a well known RSPB staff member from North East England about my post on why there no RSPB reserves in Northumberland, County Durham and Tyne and Wear apart from Coquet Island where there's no access for visitors except for trips round the Island. The RSPB seemed to suggest that there might be a new large RSPB reserve announced in the near future which sounded to me like in Northumberland. It would really be excellent if the RSPB could get some reserves outside of Cleveland in North East England as well. I've also got a friend who has heard rumours similar to what I had been told on Facebook. Has anyone else heard anything. The RSPB though couldn't give any more information.
Ian.
