I am co-ordinating the bird records for Hartlepool Power Station site for the BTO - EDF Energy Business Bird Challenge 2010. So if you see any birds using the Hartlepool Power Station land this year, please send your records to me. I will be sending records every quarter and your bird records would be most welcome. The minimum observation is the presence of a species on site, but if possible please send a count.

The Hartlepool Power Station land site, starts at the access roundabout on the Tees Road to the land behind the power station (excluding the horse's field) and the right hand side of the Zinc Works Road as you are travelling down towards the Sand Merchant's Yard at the bottom. Birds can also be recorded if you are using the outlet area in Hartlepool Bay (LHS of North Gare, marked by flag structure usually surrounded by Gulls) and also around the inlet in Seaton Channel on Seal Sands.

Definition of using a site is:
Nesting or attempting to nest, displaying, signing or calling.
Feeding, including aerial feeding, eg Swift, Swallow, martins, Sparrowhawk etc
Resting
Roosting
Bathing.

Flyovers cannot be counted.

Please either post your sightings on this thread, email your sightings to me, pass on your sightings to me at the Club Meetings or post paper records through the Teesmouth Field Centre letterbox. NOTE: DO NOT POST ANY SENSITIVE BREEDING INFORMATION ON THIS THREAD.

Thank you for your help.
