Hi
In case anyone is interested there are two places left on a trip to China this May.
I am flying to Beijing with 2 friends on 3 May 2010, where we will have half a day birding in the Botanical Gardens. The next day the tour starts with a visit to the ibisbill site near Beijing. We then go by train to Manchuria (Inner Mongolia).
The trip is organised by a Danish birder living in China, called Jesper Hornskov and is a repeat of a trip he has run 2-3 times before. The focus of the trip is to look for the critically endangered Jankowski's bunting, although there will be many other birds. The Manchuria trip lasts until 11 May, but a few of us are spending some time on Happy Island (near Beidaihe) to experience spring migration of Sibes, etc.
The cost of the 8 day Manchuria trip is $1,358 which is about £891, but does not include international flights (I have paid £459 with Etihad Airways). The Happy Island extension is extra. The group size is 12 and there are currently 2 spare places. If anyone is interested then I would be happy to pass on the details provided by Jesper.
