Title: Trip to Siberia
Post by: Corinne on January 01, 2011, 08:03:46 PM
Hi I'm called Geoff Hainsworth and have been a member since 1968;  not very active though it must be said!  My son works at Natural England in Bury St Edmunds with a chap called Adam Gretton who has been searching for many years for slender-billed curlews.  He has been to Russia several times and aquired a Russian wife on one visit!  He is organising a trip to the Siberian Altai region next summer.  It is been led by Russian guides and sounds really good and not too expensive.  It is all based upon camping and a vast area is covered.  I'm 72 and don't really fancy it at my age - bit too hard - but I told Adam I would advertise the trip on here for anyone who is interested.  I have been to Costa Rica with Adam and his mates and can vouch for their expertise and field skills.  I will post an itinerary with prices to anyone who emails me at captainbeff@hotmail.com   Thanks and Happy New Year.
