The Green-Winged Teal showed for a short while on the second pool behind the Archers Law building at Bowesfield Marsh this afternoon. Record shots only.
Nice shots Renton. My shot is rubbish haha The bird showed well but very distant this afternoon.
I posted the info on the sightings page but I will post it here as well:
I rang the news into Rare Bird Alert at about 1:40 when I found the bird on the large pond. Here is where I saw the bird:

Is it just me or does this bird show a hint of the lateral white bar shown by Eurasian Teal?

I kind of looked for this when looking at the bird in the field yesterday. It didn't seem to show even a hint of a lateral white bar whilst I was there. I quick Google search revealed a Green-winged Teal from the states that looks just like the Bowesfield bird: http://birdnerd.beenallover.net/gallery/green-winged-teal.jpg
Some interesting images of hybrid Green-winged Teals out there. Check this out if you have time:http://www.manchesterbirding.com/greenwingedtealarticle.htm
:)
I managed to take these from the causeway behind Archers Law early this afternoon
