Title: Quail sp. at Seaton Carew
Post by: TobyAW on June 08, 2011, 12:37:46 PM
Can any of you well travelled ladies and gents identify this? A local couple brought these pictures in yesterday after they saw the White-throated Robin and wondered if they could get in on the action. It was in their garden very briefly and these are the only 2 pictures they got.

Hi Toby,

It's an Asian Blue Quail, sometimes called Chinese Painted Quail and quite common in captivity.

New E species for the county though I believe?

Cheers
