Title: Puffins and Auks
Post by: Eddie H on June 09, 2011, 08:51:25 PM
Guys,

If I may, where would be the best place to observe Guillemotes, Razorbills and Puffins around here ?
Marsden Rocks is maybe the only place I can think of.
I see many fleeting glances of these at sea, but would like to observe these "properly".

   Thanks in advance Eddie,

Cheers Dean.

I'd done the Farne Islands years ago. Just wondering about somewhere here, maybe an hours drive away.

      Thanks Eddie

Why not try Bempton Cliffs, Eddy, TheTSPB reserve is halfway between Filey and Bridlington and you get really close views of birds on the cliffs. This is the best place I know for photographing gannets. You could always call at Whykekam Forest view point to see Honey Buzzards on the way back!

Myself and Wayne are off to Wykeham Forest on Friday VERY early doors. May just call at Bempton Cliffs.
My job gives me the best views of Gannets you'll ever need.    ;D

Thanks for the idea though, will certainly give it consideration.
