sorry to be a pain but this was spotted earlier in the year by myself and will robinson on seperate occasions does this mean we have both been vindicated in our sightings if there was search facility in the sightings i would find the dates
Hi,
with the number of Cattle Egrets currently moving round the country I would be surprised if it was the same bird as it was a good while back you saw yours and I think it would have been picked up before now if it was the same bird hanging around.
I therefore think you can assume that this will be regarded as a separate record.
As with all records of rare birds if you want to have your record accepted officially you will need to submit the record formally to the Cleveland Bird Recorder along with a full description and any supporting evidence (for details see the Recording section on the main menu). As it is a nationally rare bird (I suspect not for long) the record will then be passed to the national rare bird committee ( see http://www.bbrc.org.uk/ (http://www.bbrc.org.uk/) )who will decide if there is sufficient evidence to accept it. They will then pass this information back to our county recorder for inclusion in the county report if it is accepted.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Jamie
