Title: Pallid Harrier, Cowpen Bewley
Post by: Tim P. on October 24, 2011, 05:05:34 PM
This bird flew around the woodland in the park for a while keeping low and then I came upon it consuming its prey. The photos were taken at 4.45pm.

Before any questions arise... this sighting was not suppressed. My friend Tim sent me these pictures by e-mail this morning, thinking he'd shot some good images of a Hen Harrier. I was shocked when I opened the message, and sent him a reply straight away, telling him what a lucky man he was!  :o

More importantly, if it dissapeared for 24 hours, but then was seen again only yesterday, it might still be around! Keep your eyes open.

A good find Tim. At least we know it may well be still around.
