Good to see the updated county life list - though it is a shame that only 23 birders are represented. Is there an opportunity to lengthen the list? I see that the Yorkshire birding league includes 58 people (I believe all who have submitted their list).
I expect the main problem here will be finding someone to run it and keep a master spreadsheet up to date. The one currently used is always updated by 1 or 2 people after checking with all the users what they have seen against a set of rules so you can make direct comparisions.
It is thought that this list contains atleast 23 of the top 24 lists in Cleveland unless anyone knows better (one person who could possibly be on this list does not want to share his list).
I guess it could therefore be an option to do something like the football leage table where the first division is the top 23 users and the spreadsheet is maintained as it is currently. Someone else could then volunteer to run the second division and I could then post updates on the website when the master second division spreadsheet is updated.
Thanks Jamie. You are right there is no doubt an awful lot of work goes into managing the tables so thanks to Graeme et al who do this. I guess an unavoidable aspect of county life lists is that they don't change much, so newcomers to the Club have no realistic chance of having their tally recognised. That's not to say birders couldn't do a yearlist or similar - I was astounded to see how many different lists were on surfbirds. Not that I fancy a carbon neutral county yearlist attempt.
