If you get to Newcastle I'd recommend a visit to APM Camera repairs 6 Old Eldon Square Tel:0191 221 2340.

Chilling the lens by simply taking it outdoors when it's cold has worked for me in the past. The filter can loosen with the different expansion rates. Also rubbing the joint with a sift pencil like a 2B may do the trick. A rubber glove can help give a better grip on the filter. Push down on the filter towards the lens as you unscrew it.

If you Google 'stuck lens filter removing' there are a few other suggestions.

Our Wayne managed to get it off last night.

What a star. Found a "Youtube" post where he used a chammie leather and pushed lens the lens onto it and it screwed off. I had no chammie, our Wayne saved the day.  There was nowt wrong with the filter, just wanted it off and palce a UV filter in its place.

Thanks for the answers guys, much appreciated.
