Title: Sites of Ornithological Significance in Cleveland
Post by: A McLee on May 07, 2015, 07:22:26 PM
Your club is about to compile a list of sites of ornithological significance in the county and is seeking locations as candidates for the list. We are interested in sites which have no formal status ornithologically speaking. So RSPB Saltholme, Seal Sands, Tees Valley Wildlife Trust Reserves, Sites of Nature Conservation Interest (SNCIs) are not what we are seeking. However if you have a site which you believe is of significance but do not know if it has any formal designation, don't let that stop you telling us about it.
By having " ornithological interest" we mean there is a good assembly of species either breeding, feeding or wintering, or having species which are uncommon in the county or the region, are present. If you wish to flag up a site for which you wish to ensure confidentiality, then this will be assured in the same way as the record submitted to the records committee.
Spring is here and your local patch awaits your visit!
