Post by: noelg on September 12, 2009, 07:42:42 PM
Hi whilst  at my static in eastgate we observed a kestrel sized b.of p. taking insects out of the air above the trees ; scimatar shaped wings with a V shaped tail my bird books do not show anything like it in the inflight dias.

Size, behaviour and even wing shape may fit Hobby - as could the tail if the V could be said to be wedge shaped? They spread the tail as they veer about catching things like dragonflies.
