Title: Mystery Bird at Loch Ken
Post by: Derickp on June 26, 2016, 11:08:17 AM
While at Lock Ken last week we took this photo of 2 birds in the trees back of the campsite. Long distant and not sharp but I cannot I D them. The Bill, "easily seen on the uppermost bird" is rather odd as well. Can any of the more experienced birders identify them. Sadly only the one photo before they flew off.

Hi Derick,

Looks like a Goldcrest - maybe a juvenile making bill look larger?

Cheers,

Gary

Thanks to both Gary and Ian for your comment's and ID confirmation. Will go with Goldcrest. Beak shape/length however will remain a mystery.
