Some may have noticed that the end of the road, just as it leads to the dunes, has been gated and fenced. This is the result of requests from N E, to the owners P D Ports, to render the beach area inaccessible to trail bikers, but strictly speaking the area is private, but one suspects that P D Ports are relaxed about other responsible users, like birders, entering the area. If this was not so, the fence would have been more complete at one side, one supposes.
On the matter of the road itself, access to the public is a somewhat paradoxical. P D Ports own small stretches at each end, and to assert their ownership in law, they close these two small sectors for one day a year. However the rest of the road is public. (It is part of the England Coastal Path in fact).
Any future trail biking should be photographed and reported to the police, who spoke to the earlier miscreants, having had them identified to them.
