Here are some shots of the gull seen at Scaling Dam today (see report in sightings) By Martin Blick ETC.
They are heavily cropped, but not denoised or sharpened

My guess based on a quick look at the pics is that it looks like a 3w LBBGull.

I've been looking at my Sibley guide and it doesn't half look like a Western Gull.

I think Western would show bright pink legs in this plumage Keith.
