Title: Terns at the South Gare
Post by: robyoung on July 09, 2018, 03:22:39 PM
Flock of Little Terns (~20) and a few Common and Sandwich Terns. The light was poor but I could see some rings. Maybe someone can get identification if they know what they are looking for.

Looks like http://www.cr-birding.org/node/947 one for the blue-ringed Little Tern with letters. Can't seem to find anything for the other Little Tern.

Common Tern is possibly this one http://www.cr-birding.org/node/4130 I think the black one is 3:19 but can't be sure.

Cheers
Chris.

Word has come back from Christopher Brown as follows :-

Hi Rob,
Thanks for these. AU was ringed as a pullus at Crimdon 8.7.14.

I can't read the Common Tern, although it's certainly one of ours. Did you get a better pic of it?

ps the plain blue ringed birds are mine too but could have been ringed anytime between 1984 and 2011

Cheers, Chris
