Friends of Green Lane are now a fully constituted group.
We surveyed and cleaned out our 18 nest boxes situated in and around vicinity of Green Lane:
These consist of a mixed 25mm 27mm hole and letterbox type openings.
3 boxes missing. ::)
Signs of Rodent occupation in 3 letterbox types (WE will modify these to a conventional 27mm hole and re install this week.
9 had been occupied by birds including Blue Tit, Great Tit and I believe a Pied Wagtail inside the football ground.
Duff Robin egg found in one and 2 dead B Tit chicks found in another.
I am really pleased with these results because without this artificial habitat very few of these birds, if any, would have been able to nest on Green Lane.
