I wouldn't worry too much just yet. From what I've seen I think it's been a very good breeding year for most birds and there's plenty of natural food around. We've still got Sparrows coming to our garden feeders but not in the numbers they were just after breeding when we got lots of young birds. I expect a lull over the next few weeks for most birds in the garden as has happened previous years. If you don't get them back by winter then there may be something else going on.
It does seem a little odd though that you're not seenig any at all. I wonder if they've found an alternative/better food supply? Ours seem to love sunflower hearts and even more so fat balls.
thank you for replying ian,still no sign of them l expect to see at least one or two feeding,i will give the sunflower seeds to try and tempt them back,i also had half a dozen bluetits feeding from them they missing to ,the garden feels like the marie celest.
