Not sure how to go about this but maybe the moderators (Jamie?) would consider starting a thread for id discussion.  This would stop the sightings page being used for this purpose.  Today for instance, there are some pointers for Raven which I'd love to respond to but don't want to clog up the sightings page, though I may be sometimes guilty of that with the odd, non-sighting, light-hearted comment anyway:-).
Of course there would need to be some guidelines.....  random slagging off of published records which the relevant committee have spent much time and effort doing their best to make sure the report is as accurate as possible should not be done on any public forum.
