This is a request for help from anyone birdwatching down the Zinc Works Road. Hopefully you are aware that the Hartlepool Power Station is taking part in the BTO Business Bird Challenge 2010 and the birds visiting the site have been recording over the course of this year. With the help from TBC members, Teesmouth Field Centre Staff and Hartlepool Power Station Staff we have recorded to date 95 species. In 2008, 99 species were recorded so I am hoping that we can spot at least 4 more species before the 31st December 2010. So as you are driving down the Zinc Works Road, please make a note of the birds seen on the right hand side until you reach the end of the metal fence near Frutaroma.

Also if you birdwatching off North Gare (Hartlepool Bay side) and there are birds near the outfall marker these can be counted too if they are between the marker and the high tide line. From Seaton Snook, birds flying across the horse's field and into the site also count providing they land on HPS land. Birds seen in Seaton Channel that are alongside the HPS can be counted too.

There is an up to date list on the TFC website: http://www.zyworld.com/TeesmouthFieldCentre/TFC_Diary_Page_5.htm

Records of birds spotted also help with monthly totals, so I will be very grateful for any records.

Thank you
Julie
