On 29th January, at 10.30hrs, the Birds of Durham Heritage Project commences its year-long round of events to celebrate the heritage of Durham's birds, with a guided walk around the village of Fishburn, near Sedgefield.

Why not join the Durham Bird Club's walk leaders Keith Bowey and Paul Anderson for a FREE bird watching walk, in the varied countryside around Fishburn village, which has been organised with the support of 'Fishburn in Bloom', as the first element of the events programme of the Birds of Durham Heritage Project.

The guided walk will be approximately 3.5km in length and will last between one-and-a-half and two hours.  The experienced leaders will take you through a range of local habitats, including farmland, plantation woodland and the Fishburn wetlands, seeing birds along the way and regaling you with tales of Fishburn's birdlife, from the past and the present
