Unidentified bird - wing only

Bear with me on this, my first post (to any forum, not just TBC). I'm hoping to attach some pics of a bird's wing we found on 23 Jan 2011 at Seaton Snook facing Seal Sands. Attached to the wing were some body plumage and some bony matter whoc may have been part of the breast bone or the bird equivalent of a collarbone. In case the colour doesn't show up ok on the pics, the upper surface was very dark blue/black. We think the wingspan is probably
120-140cm.
I think I've managed to attach 4 pics. I will mke further postings with more pics

Looks wierd  but my best guess would be a 3rd year Herring Gull heavily soaked with oil?
