Until recently this non native predator had been absent from the urban and North Tees wetland areas. Recent sightings reported in the club's website, together with road kills indicate that this is no longer the case. The damage the species does to water birds is well documented in the UK and on a personal, anecdotal level I have seen both the numbers of duckling broods and the numbers of young birds within broods, decline over the last two years.

The Tees Valley Wildlife Trust has started gathering data on the prevalence of mink in the county and would like your help. For more information, click here. The recording form can be downloaded here (press cancel when a password is requested and form will load)
