No problem. I can't quite decide whether there's a back ring above the yellow one or whether it's just the leg in shadow.

If it is black over yellow then the right leg may have green over black as I saw that bird on the Headland on 10/12/2012. It was ringed on Seal Sands on 21/07/2012.

Quite a few Curlew moved away from the coast after they arrived and are now turning up back there again before they head back to their breeding areas. It's Happening at Seaton Common as well.

It does looks like it has a black ring above the yellow one to me.
Thanks again Ian,
Luke

Looks like the same bird was present this morning. Definitely NY GN back again.

Hi, the photograph of a Robin attached was recently taken in Middlesbrough, near James Cook Hospital. Unfortunately I haven't been able to confirm if the Robin's right leg has a plastic or metal ring on it. I was wondering if anyone was aware of a colour ringing scheme currently ongoing in the area?

Cheers,
Adam

They do look like colour rings. Was it a colour ring on the left leg as well or is it just the light catching the metal ring?

I've not seen or heard of any local schemes though there are a couple listed on cr-birding - http://www.cr-birding.be/cr-EuropeanRobin.htm - though not an exact match.

A colour ringed Curlew was back on Seaton Common last night.

It was ringed on Seal Sands in July 2012.

I first saw it on the Common in Sept 2012 and throughout the winter. I last saw it in March 2013 before it disappeared for the summer.

A poor year for Avocet breeding with just three chicks ringed in June this year. I've only seen one other un-ringed chick locally. Another four un-ringed fledged chicks with two adults recently appeared but it's likely they bred elsewhere and have just flown in on passage.

Group photo taken in July.
