Common Tern with black darvic SSL on main lake this morning. Could only be seen by looking through visitor centre windows.

Colour ring added 29/03/2023 La Langue de Barbarie, Senegal to a BTO metal ringed bird ST61171 (believed to be ringed RSPB Saltholme 2018).

Ringed Bowness, Windermere 22/12/2019 as a juvenile.
Last reported Teesville, Middlesbrough 26/12/2022.

Black-tailed Godwit 50+ from Saltholme Hide this morning. One colour ringed bird present. Believed to be ringed on Montrose Basin/Ythan Estuary, Scotland. Details sent off. Another c.120 flew onto Back Saltholme.

Yes. It nested close to the hide with an un-ringed bird. They were the last ones to nest. They had four chicks though I could only see one remaining fluffy chick when I was there yesterday. IP one of it's siblings was also present yesterday. Ringed locally June 2021.

Black-tailed Godwit GNY GYG was on west pond this morning at RSPB Saltholme. It moved briefly to Phil Stead Hide before returning to west pond. 71 Godwits in flock.

Ringed -

GNY GYG10-Oct-15 Iken, River Alde, Suffolk. Adult female
Many records of it in the UK in Suffolk and Norfolk each Aug/Sep before wintering around Lisbon, Portugal. Heads back north in February stops off in The Netherlands.
Most recent record was 23/03/2023 in The Netherlands.

A while since I've seen this one but it was in front of the Phil Stead hide on Sunday 30th July, around 13:00.  Ring starting to look a bit faded.  From memory, this egret hatched in Somerset.

It was here until 08/02/2023 before disappearing. I first saw it again on 09/07/2023 and then virtually every day since then. A red colour ringed bird had been around since about 01/07/2023 but was never close enough to read the ring.

It's from RSPB Ham Wall, Somerset ringed 23/04/2021.

A regular here each year since it was ringed in the nest at RSPB Ham Wall, Somerset on 23.04.2021.

Sandwich Tern green KKN was on Seaton Snook this evening.
Around 80 birds present. 50/50 adults and juveniles. A lot of metal rings but only the one colour ring.
