Saw a blackbird with a longish thin white crown and a bit of white around the neck area. Anyone know anything about such a bird?

Maybe leucism? Blackbirds are pretty susceptible to 'leucism' as are many Corvids - maybe it's due to them being black and white feathers stand out well!

We've had several Blackbirds in the garden over the years showing white feathers in various places, some with just one or two white feathers but others being quite extensively white. Crows with white feathers are pretty common around this area.

Thanks for the response. It was almost a perfect crest which made it stand out (a little white under one eye as well). I'll try and get a photo . . . .
