I am a visible ( land and seawatching enthusiast) posting regularly on trektellen ( see http://www.trektellen.nl/default.asp?site=0&taal=2&land=5) and mostly in E Yorkshire- however I thought this might be of interest from a visiting vis migger posting on our yahoo forum for 02/04/12

> On holiday in parent's cottage at Staithes on North Yorks/ Cleveland border.

> Good couple of hours vis this morning. Tried this watchpoint just west of
Staithes on the clifftop last year in Easter holidays with some success. Today
was good - with the best being 4 white-fronted geese N at 0710, great northern
diver NW at 0825 and 2 yellow wagtail. Bizarrely the diver was half a mile
inland when picked up! Very good mipit passage too which was still going strong
when I left.

2720 Mipits WNW at Cowbar this am.

One Wheatear on the deck- otherwise not much spring to see!

Two Peregrines and a Merlin were supporting cast.
