A couple of record shots. Singing well but not showing itself very much.

Here's a link to a short recording of the song.

I recorded quite a bit on my Canon 7D but due to file sizes for upload I can only add a short clip - http://www.birdforum.net/showpost.php?p=2434622&postcount=15276

It showed it self several times this morning though not that well.

A very short video clip of it from this morning. It's only four seconds long so it's repeated - http://youtu.be/suvyvHB4sbw

Singing and showing well on and off this evening.

Still present this evening. I arrived around 6.15pm but it didn't show itself until 7.00pm when the Nightingale began singing. It didn't stop until gone 7.30pm.

It was in view for most of that time but partially obscured. After that it dropped to the ground frequently making it's croaking call as it scuttled about. A blackbird disturbed it and it flew off towards the beckside trees returning a few minutes later to the same bush. Just before I left it did the same again without any apparent reason, returning to the bush a few minutes later.

Well done Tom,
I spent a good 3 hours yesterday, with only a few well hidden glimpses of the bird, as did quite a few others.

Fantastic pics!

I am coming across from Cumbria to see try and see the bird on Friday (annoyingly missing the RSPB event!). I am familiar with Cowpen Bewely, but could anybody please offer advise on where best to see the bird in the park?

Much appreciated!

Tom

By the car park is an information board with a map. Head over to the lake and seek out the hide in the NW corner. It can be seen/heard from that area. It really needs to be singing in order to locate it and you can hear it from just about anywhere around the lake.

Still present this morning.
