Just a General Question! Whats everyones favourite bird and why?

Really hard to decide which were my favourite three but decided upon the dipper as being one of my favourites.  First seen on my favourite destination the Isle of Mull and now regularly seen in our local area.  Secondly the little owl which now seems easier to find than the tawny around here and thirdly the swift which I love to hear screeching in the summer and miss when they leave.

Tree Sparrow all the way.  Probably stems from struggling to see them groing up (in the Midlands) and now having them breeding in my garden in Seamer.  Other close ones are Krupers Nuthatch (spelling), Wallcreeper and Hawfinch.

I think my is probably the Bullfinch or maybe Lapwing as the lapwing was the first real bird I ever Idenfified! Obviously apart from the robins etc!

Snipe, simple as that cause the are so hard to see at times

hard one this ....kestrel gets my vote...just love all birds of prey  but the kestrel takes this one for me how great when driving just  to spot one hovers like a harrier jump jet ..fantastic  then  it has to be joint  second between woodpecker and kingfisher.

For me, its one of the raptors, probably the golden eagle, because it oozes majesty and its a relief for once that britain actually has something rather ''meaty'' and substantial, as it seems to my uninformed self that generally the larger fauna and flora live on other shores...
