Thank you very much for taking the time to report to us details of the sighting of a flagged Purple Sandpiper  (Calidris maritima). Information about this bird and its movement is given below:

Ring no : Stavanger 8B43319
Flag g/w XMM ( Left tarsus : metal. Left tibia : orange colour ring.  Right tibia: (dark) green flag engraved with three  white  letters XMM.)
Age/sex/biometrics: M1K (male, hatched 2014). Wing: 131 mm. Weight: 57,9 g. Bill:26,8 mm.
Ringing date: 21.08.2014, 18 hrs.
Ringing place: Longyearbyen (78.13.13N-15.40.06E)  Spitsbergen, Svalbard

Finding date : 20.01.2015
Observed :Redcar Rocks (54*37'00N-001*03'00W) North Yorkshire, ENGLAND.

Remarks:    Photodocumented, very distinct photo of the flag and bird.
