Teesmouth Bird Club planning to erect a viewing platform/hide at Dormans Pool

As I'm a Life Member of the RSPB I'm very concerned to read that the Teesmouth Bird Club are planning to errect a steel tower viewing platform/hide at Dorman's Pool if the Bird Club gets the go ahead with planning permission. As the RSPB own the site and reserve, have they given the go ahead. In my opinion it will be a very unsightly structure at that reserve.

Dave Braithwaite of the RSPB has had a site meeting with several members of our committee and between us we agreed on this structure. I am in regular contact with Dave on all matters regarding the bird club. We think that the design we have chosen will not be unsightly and will give the opportunity to view Dorman's Pool from a different angle. When we have some drawings done I will give more details.
