RIP Mark Askew

It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden untimely death of our Honorary Treasurer, Trustee and Cleveland Bird Report compiler Mark Askew. Mark was truly a Club stalwart, having fulfilled these roles for many years. Usually to be found in his favourite south side haunts, he was a skilled birder with many rarity finds to his name, and had only recently retired from work. He was also a steadfast WeBS Counter and Breeding Bird Survey fieldworker. Our condolences go to his widow Ali and family, who have set up a Just Giving fundraiser page in aid of Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team.
