Yellowheaded Wagtail

A couple of weeks ago me & Fred Wright saw what we thought was a pair of Yellow Wagtail off the North Gare Road. The male did look strikingly yellow but we assumed this was due to the bright sunset. Fred took a photo. On closer examination by Peter & Chris Brayshay & Roger Wilson the collective opinion is that this bird is too "yellow" esp. around the head for our normal "Flavissima" & is in fact "Motacilla Flava Lutea" - a Yellowheaded Wagtail or N. Kirghiz Steppe Wagtail in some guides. A quick Internet search would appear to confirm this to be a Yellowheaded Wagtail, which breed from the Lower Volga to the Irtysh River & Lake Zaysan, & winters in Africa & the Indian subcontinent.
Opinions please! I'm a complete novice.
This is my 1st Forum Posting, I am at IT Level Primary Key Stage 1, don't know how to attach the photo. I can e'mail it to anyone who can help me get it on the Forum. It is a beautiful bird.
Thank you.

Hi Dan, to post a pic, click 'Additional Options...' near the bottom left of the text box, and then click 'browse' to browse your photos. Sounds interesting but looking on the internet they look very similar.

Hi Luke,
Thanks for your advice, but when I try to attach the pic an error report appears saying the image is too big.
Can I e'mail you the photo? Don't think Fred has a copyright on it !
He has just registered as a User so hopefully he can post it soon.
Best wishes, Dan

Fred Wright

The maximum file size for images is 300 KB, although i've occasionally seen the site give a false positive for files that are only slightly smaller.  Just about any graphics software (even Paint which comes with windows) can be used to shrink an image to a suitable size.  I hope this helps . . .

Thanks Lokhart, but if Dan is like me, I am to computers what Adolf Hitler was to world peace, but I'll happily send it to you if you could then do the honours. I have already bowed to higher knowledge than mine ie the three gents mentioned and if they say it is lutea then thats what it is to me. It would be nice to have the picture on view though. Thanks.

Hi Dan & Fred, feel free to send it on to me and I'll see what I can do. My email address is: hawkinsiscool@gmail.com.
