Hi everyone
Apologies if this has already been done, i appreciate that this is ostensibly a bird watching site, but feel that many of our members may have other commonalities to share and socialise, so was hoping that people could put down their hobbies, past times and interests here, for mutual appreciation, chats etc

My main other interest is Moths along with Dragonflies and Butterflies. In additon to this I am currently trying to learn the ID of Bees, Hoverflies and Soldierflies. I used to also do Shieldbugs but gave them a miss last year. I also like Mammals but they are harder to find round here other than Homo Sapien!

I also do a lot of photography (mainly macro of the above)

I'm a postgrad cognitive psych student, who can't draw, sculpt, paint or photograph for toffee, so asides from gawping with unadulterated awe at nature-anything from ants on a mission to gobble up a spilt can of fanta, to foraging black bear grazing at roadsides, tends to be engrossed in a good film (anything from 1919 onwards...) preferably with lots of company or a book, normally horror/sci fi or military history, I love walking (although you wouldn't think that from looking at me lol), feel free to say hello if you see me at saltholme just look for a lion tattoo on the left forearm.
Ps good luck with the wex
Pps dragonflies are my obsession, although am fairly inept at identifying them, they ooze alienness and feed my imagination about other worlds

pete its not a bad idea to use tattoos as identification of fellow tmbc members in the field ! so if anyone sees someone about who looks like they dont have anymore room for tattoos its probably me :P, i also like dragonflies, butterflies and moths but am still learning to id birds so arent so good with other critters yet. i dont know many tmbc members by name as i stick to crimdon dene ussually as i live there and dont drive so cant get too most places people seem to go. hopefully il meet some more people soon ive only been birding about a year

i've only been properly birding three times, mostly started it as a bit of father-son bonding but now am slightly addicted so as soon as the exams are over then will try to tour as far and wide as my feet or the bus can manage.
Its good sometimes not to be too familiar with wildlife, as latinising or collating everything in league tables, can turn something emotive into a bit of accountacy lol, although people who do the collating etc i respect , infinite diversity in infinite combinations and all that.

Thanks for the luck peter I will look out for you!
