Am I too late to clean out my nest boxes out.

I am lucky enough to have Tree Sparrows nesting here in Seamer and have a few sparrow terraces and boxes around the garden. I have already seen the Tree Sparrows inspecting the boxes. I usually clean them out during a mild spell during late January/February but have been working away so never got around to it. Can I still get rid of last years nests and clean them now or is it best to just leave them in case I disturb the prospective breeding birds.

Cheers

I never clean my T S nest boxes out this late in the year. Let them be now as the new nest repairs will be underway already.

On the subject, of nest boxes. Rspb salthome seems to be an ideal habitat for barn owls .any breeding success, from the the one at greenebella ,when the yong get chased ,have no ware to go.i would have nest boxes on posts and in the sheep barn, to accommodate any increase in barn owl population. Corecct me if i am wrong, to my knowledge there is only one box in a hawthorn bush on the reserve
