Spotted this fellow at Skinningrove this morning on the Rocks, Cattersty side of the Jetty. I sat in the rocks at some distance for 30 minutes freezing until he returned. At first I thought common Redstart but on further examintaion I realised it was the Eastern species or so I believe. So here are the images.

Some close images of a very confiding little eastern Black Redstart. We are now on 28 days since I found him. Lets hope he makes yet another record for longest stayer.

Showing extremely well today.

What happens to a bird like this so far from its normal Winter surroundings? Does it survive? Does it find its way 'home'?

Derickp

Still at Skinningrove today and a very confiding little bird. Some even closer images today as he spent most of his day at the South side of the Jetty enjoying the sun.
